Leading Edge is a team of experienced education professionals specialising in school governance and leadership who are committed to providing bespoke solutions to meet individual schools' particular needs.

A distinctive feature of our approach is that we view governance and strategic leadership as an integrated whole, with the alignment of key players as essential to taking a school forward positively and successfully.

Leading Edge offers uniquely tailored solutions to meet your needs, not off-the-shelf ‘fixes’. Our personal service is founded upon the development of an open and productive relationship in which we become your partner in delivering lasting and effective change.

Our individualised support is designed to enable professional exploration of new opportunities or effective resolution of issues, without committing you to long-term expenditure or closing down future options within the organisation. Our approach is informed by access to the latest research from Higher Education and other networks and is continually developed to ensure you receive the very best support.

We offer a free initial consultation to all our potential clients in order to identify how we might support you in taking your school to the next level. If we feel we are unable to meet your particular needs we undertake to use our extensive range of high quality contacts to suggest an appropriate service provider.

Advice and Consultancy

The members of our team bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in leadership and governance and can offer specific support in particular circumstances. These may be structural issues such as academy/trust school status or federation/other partnerships; or they may be issues relating to maximising effectiveness such as conduct of business, membership, committee roles and terms of reference, and many more.

Reviews of Governance

Members of our team can carry out anexternal review of governance to identify areas of strength and areas for development, leading to an action plan. Such reviews are often required after an Ofsted inspection, but can be arranged at any time and may be part of your preparation for inspection.

We can also offer supported self-review, guiding governors to work through a review process themselves.
